“Friday, 2 October is Harvest Fast Day, and across England and Wales parishes are coming together to hold frugal lunches and fast day collections to raise funds for CAFOD’s work.” – CAFOD
To help support Harvest Day within our own community, we organised a cake sale, within our school, providing a range of homemade confectionaries. This event proved to be very successful as we raised £132.90 (in 15 minutes!). We were happily surprised to find that many people, made generous extra donations to CAFOD as well as buying cakes. This proves that is very easy to raise a considerable amount of money within such a small group of people. This also shows that a small action can make a big difference because so many young people were inspired, not just by our delicious cakes, but by the inspiration to give and the reason behind the event.
So please use this as a message to everyone. It takes little effort to make a difference to someone’s life, especially our brothers and sisters overseas.
So why not get baking?
